The Pratt Truss design has a long history of being strong and efficient. It became very popular when engineers started using iron to build bridges for railways. This model popsicle bridge is highly efficient and fun to build. The Pratt Truss is one of my personal favorites and I take pride in how well this model bridge performs.

Full scale blueprints and detailed building instructions show you every step of the building process from start to finish. Pictures are included for every step and helpful hints are sprinkled throughout the instructions. You will also receive a one page document which explains some things you need to know before building the bridge, as well as what to do with your popsicle bridge after it is completed.

Choose either the complete kit or just the digital download.

If you get the digital download, you will need to provide all the materials listed below. A color printer is also required.

Needed materials:

  • Color Printer
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • Standard Popsicle Sticks (4.5" long, 3/8" wide, 1/16" thick)

Other helpful items:

  • Heavy books

*The strength of this bridge depends on many factors, including the quality of materials, precision of construction, and the type of glue used.
